What a mouthful!

We took a look into Max's mouth today to find 4 of his top teeth breaking through- all at once! No wonder he has been a little cranky lately! Why didn't I think to take a look and see if he was teething until now? He hasn't been too bad- but it is nice to know that there is a reason for his fussiness.

He has learned a lot of new tricks this last week. He can now say mama and dada, and he will copy us when we blow raspberries. He is getting cuter and cuter each day- which means he is pretty cute considering he started out cute already- if you get what I mean :)

Through the eyes of a 2 year old

I don't think that I am the only one out there (at least I hope) that will let there child get into things that usually are off limits when on the phone...I would rather deal with the mess after I am done and not yell into my friends ear. I of course make sure Luke is safe and isn't getting into knives or scissors...but usually when I hang up the phone our house is a big mess. I need to do better, but with a 2 year old, that is what you get. At least we have our lock at the top of our door to keep Luke contained inside and not running down the street. I got caught in the act last week by my 2 year old....and daddy found the camera with evidence (why didn't I think to delete these pictures!!). I know, I know, Ike. Don't let Luke play with our camera, even though it isn't our expensive camera...it is still new and nice. Anyways- here is what I found on the camera after I got done with my phone call. I didn't even know he knew how to turn it on, but he is a little pro. It was funny to see everything from his little level...and it looks like I forgot to lock the front door....am I the best mom or what!?!

Busted!!! Like I said- I will try to be a better mom!

To {BEE} or not to {BEE}

That was the question of the day as last Wednesday started out pretty cold and windy- but we were sure happy when it warmed up that night so we could keep our plans of going to our first Bee's game of the season! What a great night to go too, as they had unlimited hot dogs for only $1.00! You can't beat that!

We made Luke try some cotton candy to see if he had outgrown his crazy fear of it....last fall he would not have even a bite after it touched his lips and didn't understand why we were forcing cotton down his throat....this year wasn't much different. He did get a small bite down after watching his cousin Eden enjoy every bite. How could you not like 100% sugar that melts in your mouth...100% goodness!

And below is poor little Max....I am ashamed to admit it, but his swollen, red eye is from his mommy letting him play with a straw earlier that day. For some reason he loves straws--and I would often give him one as a last resort to keep him happy. Up until this day he had never had an accident, guess I learned the hard way. Sorry Max, no more straws for you!

Last picture of the night is on our way home. I was able to talk Luke into leaving his Santa hat in the car while at the game....but once we were done it came right back on. He found this that day while I was cleaning a closet. Jingle Bells and HO HO HO is all I heard from his cute little mouth all day long....precious.

My Daddy is my Favorite Pal

Happy Father's Day to my 2 wonderful dads who I love so very much- and also my wonderful husband who means everything to me. Me and my boys are so blessed to have such wonderful examples in our lives. Our dads are so caring and giving- and the best Grandpa's to Luke and Max. Luke can't visit one without wanting to visit the other right after. Most of the time it is nice that both of our parents live a street apart from each other!

Thank you Ike for being the best dad to our two sweet boys. You are always willing to do anything for them. Thank for being so involved in their lives and for being such a FUN daddy. Luke just loves it when you come home each day (when he isn't tired and cranky) and when you play basketball, or play outside with him. And Max always gets the biggest grin on his face when you walk in the door and give him his hugs and kisses. And thank you for all you do for me....I hope I show you how much you really do mean to me- I need to be better at letting you know because I am the luckiest girl and appreciate everything you do for me and our family. I LOVE YOU.

My favorite thing about you is how much fun you have trying to make Luke and Max laugh. My favorite thing is when you get your handy harmonica out and start marching around the house playing the song you made up which I can't stand- but somehow it makes me laugh. And below is a picture that proves how much fun you have trying to make Luke laugh. We love you Ike, and hope you have a spectacular day as you mean the world to us.

Never give up

I hope they don't mind me posting about them---I just had a minute to blog and can't get them off of my mind. I just wanted to let my sweet brother Jon and sister-in-law Kim know how much we LOVE them and are thinking about them. Today has been a very hard day for them and there are not any words to make it all better. They are the strongest people I know and are such examples to me of faith and never giving up. I am so amazed by their strength and their unwaivering testimonies. I hope that one day I might have even an ounce of their courage and faith......they are truly, truly amazing people and our prayers are with them, and little Cade and Jakers. Hopefully soon we will understand why, but in the meantime try to keep smiling. We love you!

A SuPerDeeDuper Day

Luke had probably the best day of his life on Sunday when BARNEY, his one true love, gave him a surprise visit! He was a little shy at first, but by the end he didn't want him to go! After lots of giggles and hugs, we told him that he had to go bye bye on the bus ( I don't know why, but that made it ok).

Ike's brother Abe owns this Barney costume, and he decided to bring it to Sunday dinner. He knows how much Luke loves Barney and thought it would be quite funny to see Luke's reaction. After he (Jordan and Ike both put it on) left, he said to Ike, "Daddy Barney?". Apparently he noticed daddy's shoes and was a little confused. I still don't know if he completely believed that it was Barney not, and he didn't say anything about his missing tooth!

Barney made another appearance at our family BBQ last night, and the first thing Luke said to his new friend was "Barney, come play Basketball!".

1. Favorite Room- This is my office/scrapbook room. I have had fun decorating it and wish I spent more time in here. Now that I digital scrapbook, I don't really need a room just for scrapbooking- but I still love it! The orange makes me happy!

2.- My Closet- I just did laundry yesterday, so luckily all of my clothes are picked up off of the floor. Ususally this is the messiest part of our house- but I have been doing better latley!

3. Kids are doing- As of 15 minutes ago (things change quickly here..) Luke is eating his daily dino chicken nuggets- and Max is jumping away in his nifty jumparoo!

4. Self Portrait- Sorry- not going to post a picture of me right now as I look pretty scary, but here is a picture taken last night of me and Max at a family BBQ

5. Favorite Shoes- These are my new Nike Plus Shoes that Ike gave me for Mother's Day. They are my favorite because not only are they super comfy and cute, but they have a chip inside that hooks up to my IPOD Nano that tells me how many miles I walk. BEST gift and invention ever!

6. Kitchen Sink- Not much to say about this picture- just a yucky sink that needs a deep cleaning...

7. Laundry Pile- I am so proud to say that I don't have a picture of a laundry pile to share!!!! I did my laundry all in one day yesterday. Thanks Kim for your advice- I now don't have to look through a big wrinkled pile to find a pair of underwear :) Hopefully I can keep this up!

8. Toilets- My toilet is clean, yay! I have job chart on my fridge now with my chores for each day of the week. So sad that I had to resort to rewarding myself with stickers to keep my house clean...but it is helping!

9. Fridge- empty as usual. Time to go shopping again!

10. Where you want to go- I will take any vacation, but somewhere on the beach would be wonderful!

My new FAVORITE picture

Luke with his brown shirt and brown eyes + Max with his blue shirt and bright blue eyes= the two CUTEST boys in the world! I sure do love them, and I am so grateful for them in my life. What wonderful blessings they are.

I took some fun pictures of my boys today, but later when I looked at them I noticed that almost every picture of Luke included bubbly lips. He has this nasty habit of blowing bubbles with his spit, which usually ends up with slobber all over his shirt or the couch. I remember being little and being fascinated with it too, so I don't blame him....plus, he seems to grow out of things quickly so I won't let it bother me too much....for now. Still a cute kid, bubbles and all :)
