They go hand in hand. One can not be done without the other. An upbeat song makes me run faster. A slow song that has no oomph makes the run drag on and on, get a side ache, or just feel like giving up.Music plays such a huge role, a good song can make you feel empowered. strong.
I don't have a great ear for good music. I usually rely on Ike to find the good stuff, or Abe, who passes it on to Ike, who then passes it onto me. Like the band called I'm from Barcelona. They could keep me running four hours. Love it. Thanks Abe.
I also like to keep my ipod on shuffle, as I am a big fan of surprises. Surprises make me happy.
I have also stopped drinking my diet soda. for now, that is. Don't hold me to this forever. But, it has been 28 days since I have had any. I don't know if this really effects how I run, but I am scared to see if it does. In the meantime, we are saving $.80 a day, which could really add up to millions one day, right?
I am loving running right now. I am not running very far, but have happily worked my way up to 3 miles without stopping. I had decided to work up to a half-marathon.....but don't think I will be able to do that, but would love to maybe try for a 10k.
Anyone want to do it with me? Grab your ipod, load it with a rockin' playlist, tie your shoes, and let's go for it.
You in?
