Change

it has to happen.

But there is good change...like buying pink things when you are used to blue.

This is the bedding we bought. I love it and am so excited to decorate for a little girl. The bad change with this is that Luke and Max will have to share a room. This might not be so bad once the change has taken place, but I am not looking forward to the first few weeks of trying to get them to sleep, and having them wake each other up. Any tips for a smooth transition would be wonderful! We bought bunk beds when Max was born, and I can't believe it is already time to put them both to use! Luke and Max are best buds, so I know sharing a room will be fun for them.

Another change is how big Luke is getting. If you remember the beginning of the summer, he wouldn't even get on Bulgy the Whale at Lagoon. He'd only go on 3 rides and throw a royal fit if we forced him to try anything new.

A few months later and look how far he has come! He will now ride The Bat and many others. We were so proud of him for being so brave.

The biggest change for me was my last day of work. I have worked for Making Memories for 6 years. They were so good to me and let me work from home for 4 of those years. Things have changed quite a bit there...the people and the job itself. Time to move on I guess. I was ready for this change, but still a little sad to see it end.

Last, I thought I better post a picture from Halloween. Luke was Robin Hood. Obviously, a homemade Robin Hood, but he still thought it was awesome. He held his Bow & Arrow proudly Halloween night...until he poked his friend in the eye on accident. But at least we got a picture with it before I took it away. Max was a Dinosaur, or a Dragon. We still don't know, but it was cute and they both say "Roar", so it doesn't matter which one it was, right?!

And can I just say that I love being pregnant at Halloween time? The boys went trick or treating 3 times....to Ike's work, Dick's free trunk or treat, and around the neighborhood.

I am scared for my next doctor's appointment...do I have to get on the scale?

I hope they are right...

because today we bought these....

and look how happy these boys are

I had another ultrasound today and they are pretty certain we are having a
.....GIRL!
I am still in denial, and can't believe it. I had a fun time buying some girl things afterwards...but in the back of my head it just seemed wrong. I found myself looking in the boy section and had to remind myself that I could venture over to the other "forbidden" side.
We are so excited!

Max gets a donut

Well...I wished Luke a happy birthday on this blog, on his birthday. And even made him a cake for his Mickey Mouse birthday party. And bought him presents too.
Yes, I was a good mom that day.

One week later was Max's 2nd birthday. I love him JUST as much as I love Luke, but for some reason he didn't get a special blog spotlight, a homemade cake, or even a present from his very own Mom and Dad....I know, so sad.

He did get a donut for a cake though, with a super big candle on top. And he was pretty happy about that. And he has awesome grandparents who got him some fun things. We were out of town that day, so that is one excuse for the slacking, but next year he will be older and realize it is his birthday and I am sure expect a lot more from us. Thank goodness this next baby won't have a September birthday as well!

We do love our Max! He makes us so happy, and we love his sweet and silly personality. He skips around the house and always give us hugs and kisses.

P.S. Max, please forgive us when you are old enough to read this...next year will be so awesome!

I love this kid...

he is four and I can't believe it.

4 years ago today I had a beautiful baby boy...at the exact same moment as Britney Spears I might add. At the time that was pretty cool.

He is the sweetest little boy and I love him to pieces. Everyday he makes ME feel so special and teaches me so much. He always calls me "pretty momma" and tells me he loves me at least a dozen times a day. He also prefers me to wear my hair down...and I find myself thinking of what he might think when I get ready in the morning...as he will beg me to take it out of my usual pony tail.

He is also a great poser. He loves his picture to be taken and has many awesome poses up his sleeve....here are just a few.

Happy Birthday Luke!

pictures of US

on our overnight getaway
This may look a little vain, but we snapped some pictures of ourselves on our way to Wendover. Ike got me a new lens for my b-day, and the sand dunes looked so pretty on our way that I wanted to jump out of the car....but instead Ike was sweet enough to pull over and play in the sand with me for a minute...he even posed quite nicely.
We had a ton of fun eating at a yummy buffet, and then enjoying a concert. We saw Blues Traveler, which was awesome...but I must admit that leading up to last night I thought we were going to see the Blue Man Group...maybe let's say I thought they were the same thing...just traveling or something. It was still way fun and I even knew a few of their songs. My only complaint was the 3 smoking breaks they took on stage that lasted about 10 minutes each. I guess that is Wendover for ya!
It is so fun to getaway every now and then with the one you love. Thanks Ike for always making me feel so special, and for stopping for our mini photo shoot.

sniff sniff

Luke is officially a big kid. In a few short days he will turn 4, and he has now started his long journey of school.

We are so lucky to have found a wonderful preschool at a wonderful price. I had him in the afternoon class, and was a little concerned on how to pick him up when Max was in the middle of a nap. I figured we would just deal with it and it would be fine....well, Max missed a nap that first day as I ran a few errands and he dosed off in the car. I picked up Luke from school...which he LOVED...and the teacher said there was an opening for the morning if I wanted it. I talked with Luke about it (which I shouldn't have even told him) and he freaked out and cried for over an hour because he wanted to stay with his new friends. So I dropped the subject.

So for his second day of school, I secretly had switched it so he was now in the morning. I took him to school and walked him into his "new" class. He stared at all of the new faces and I quickly said "see ya" and took off before he could run back to me. 2 hours later I came to get him and he ran out with the biggest smile on his face....thank goodness!

This is the poster he made about himself for his first day of school. He made it all by himself, and as you can see he was pretty proud of it.

I love the picture he drew of him and me playing games...that is his favorite thing to do I guess. Maybe I should play games with him more often. He drew us playing checkers, which has honestly happened 1 time ever....like a year ago.

what we have been up to...

It has been a little crazy over here. Lots going on and tons to blog about. Instead of going into tons of detail, I will just give you a little
overview...

The month started out with me leaving Ike and the kids for 4 days while I went to girls camp. I made a huge fool of myself doing skits and lip-syncs, but had a wonderful time with these amazing girls.

Yes, that is me under that veil.

I drove to Thanksgiving Point and took the boys to the Dinosaur Museum with my sister-in-law Heather and her cute little baby.

Luke and Max loved every minute of it. It was worth the drive and crowd for the fun company, and the great deal of $2!

We met Luke's Preschool teacher. He is so excited to go to school in a few weeks. I am very excited as well...for him :)

We went to Lagoon a few times as a family and with cousins. We had passes this year and had fun stopping in for a few hours at a time. We didn't get very far with Luke and his fears...instead we had fun swimming and riding the few rides he would ride...it was tons more fun without the fits and tears.

This is where Max has spent lots of his time lately. Timeout. He is now old enough to put his nose on the wall when he is naughty, and he will stay there until we let him out. Hitting and spitting are his favorite things to do.

We had a fun sleep-over with Grandma and Grandpa Yospe and then went to Cherry Hill as a family. Max and his cousin Mae have tons of fun playing with each other. We all love Mae!

The boys hair was getting a little long...so I gave them their first buzz!
We took a trip with my family to Bear Lake. It was cold, but still tons of fun. On the last day we were able to go to the beach and get a little much needed sun.

I've been busy taking tons of pictures...I love it. This little guy is the sweetest little thing.

Speaking of babies...take a look at this picture...

Max is proudly sporting the big brother t-shirt. We are happy to announce that we are expecting another baby...due the end of March. I feel truly blessed, along with a bit over-whelmed and nauseous.

What a busy month...and September just gets busier!

I am not too worried

I think my boys will be just fine this week while I am gone at girls camp....

{You might want to call and remind Ike to feed them dinner before putting them to bed...that is my ONLY concern}

We had fun

Hope you did too!

We got lots of candy at the Bountiful Parade, saw some cool floats, and got nice and sweaty. It was wonderful.

Ike is great at multitasking. He can do anything while playing on his iphone. One of the many reasons I love him, isn't he amazing?!

miniature golfing

is not really for 1 year olds...

but we sure had a fun time chasing Max and his golf ball around...and keeping him off other peoples greens...and keeping him from hitting Luke with his golf club... and from falling in the water...did I mention we had fun?

Doesn't he just look so innocent....not!

Maybe Max wasn't quite old enough, but Luke was the perfect age to sort of understand how to play the game. Monday night really isn't the best night to go as it is so busy and people are everywhere...so if we go again soon it will for sure be a different night.

Luke showing off his golfing skills

I love this little family we have.

he's married...

or so he thinks!

We went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house last week. It was beautiful. Maybe one of the prettiest temples I've seen. Luke and Max did awesome and it was nice and quick.

He told his friend Brooklyn yesterday that he got married at the temple, and that he couldn't marry her anymore. I asked him who he married, and he said me. Because he loves me. How sweet is that.

Luke is really holding Ike and Max on his shoulders.
