3 chocolate chips

seriously....just 3 tiny chocolate chips.

These can easily be thrown in your mouth all at the same time and gone in 5 seconds flat. But of course Max can make a mess out of anything.....


on another messy note.

I still can't get him to STOP POOPING IN THE BATH! He is almost 2 1/2. It still just slides out. He doesn't say a thing until Luke sees it and freaks out and dives out of the bath. By this time it is caked all over the bottom of the bathtub. It isn't every time....just about every other time. Lucky me with a ginormous belly gets to clean the bath and pooped on bath toys.

I used to put plastic diaper covers on him when I bathed him, but I don't want him to think he can just get away with it. I've tried all the disciplining I know, so maybe I just won't bath him anymore.

Baby wipes could keep him pretty clean until he is all grown up, right?!

I can start bathing him at night when Ike is home :)

better than expected

We made the move...and boy was it a lot of work moving everything!

They are now in the same room and loving it, as you can see by these pictures.We were pretty concerned that first night. We thought they would want to play and talk when it was time for bed...but the only thing we could hear from outside of their door was Luke telling Max good night.

So it was a piece of cake until 3 am. Max was up 4 times crying and waking Luke up, and Luke had to pee and turned on their light waking Max up again. It was a long night, but since then they have been perfect...and we did find out the next day that Max had strep throat.

I'm glad we did the room switch now and not later, as Luke walks into his old room at least a dozen times a day forgetting it isn't his anymore. Hopefully when the baby comes he will be used to it!

That first morning Luke helped Max out of his bed and they both walked into my room together holding hands, with big grins on their faces. It was precious.

I love that they have each other...I just wish they would still sleep in for me.

in case you were wondering

this is what's on my mind.....

-I want to scrapbook 4 years of pictures of my boys before March when I have the baby. I told my friend and my husband this and they laughed (I don't blame them). Maybe I should prove them wrong. I tried to start but I ended up looking at pictures for over 2 hours and crying because I looked so skinny in them and my kids were so little.

-I can't stand the old school Zelda...maybe it is because I don't understand the point of the game, or because it is actually really lame. Sorry...just my opinion, even though I have no reason to think this other than the way it looks. For some reason Ike loves it...I actually remember my mom playing it while my brothers were at school when I was little.

-I have a hard time watching people lose loved ones. It consumes my mind. I ache and can't imagine how it would really be if it were me in their shoes. I don't think I could survive it...but I will try not to think about it too much.

-Luke told me today that I was a big mommy. Then he quickly told me that I was the prettiest mommy ever, so that made up for it, kind of.

-I hate that my voice is soft....but I also love that it isn't too loud. Like today at Arctic Circle. This lady kept yelling "Joshuah...stop it now!". Only she wasn't yelling, she was just talking and it came out that way. It was really loud. My soft voice does make me sound nicer...even when I'm trying not to be nice, so that's a good thing sometimes.

-I like to sing and dance to Miley Cyrus's song "Party in the USA". I know all of the words. It makes me happy and I don't care if you hate it. I needed a pick me up today and it was just what I needed. It makes my kids smile too.

-I'm so lazy that most mornings I make my bed while I am laying in it...then I carefully slide out the side. I could be lazier and not even make my bed I guess.

-This is my 3rd post this year...now that is a reason to celebrate! I figure some thoughts are better than no thoughts, right? Next time I will try to have a cute picture to share....I haven't pulled my camera out in over 2 weeks!

My Goals

Just to get them out there

This year my main goal is to be a better wife and mother. So here are a few things that I WILL do:

-be more organized. Like WAY more organized. Everything in our home will have a place, and somehow they will stay in that place. Anyone have good ideas on where to get cheap organizing containers?

-create a weekly menu. Hopefully this will help me to actually make dinner more than twice a week.

-pray and study the scriptures. I do this now, but I need to try a little harder to make it more meaningful.

-play with my kids more. I love them so much and they are growing too fast.

-be heatlhy. I will work a little harder on that one in a few more months. I need to take care of myself to be the best mom that I can be.

-FLOSS EVERYDAY. I've tried for 28 years to be good at that one and I don't know why it is so dang hard. Maybe this will be the year I figure it out!

Our December....

What a month. It was wonderful, yet crazy. Like everyone else I am sure.

Sesame Street Live
Luke got to touch Telly's hand and watch Elmo and his friends dance around. Maybe not MY first choice of concerts to see....but so worth it to see his smile.

Growing Belly
This will be one of the few or only pictures I will post of myself showing my large tummy. Less than 3 months and she will be here....which is great...but sadly that means my belly isn't done growing...I already look ready to pop.

Baby Lia
I got to take some 6 month pictures of my littlest niece. This is one of my favorite pictures ever, so I thought I would share it here.

Last minute family pictures
I said no to family pictures this year since I am pregnant...but then as you can see I gave in. We got pictures of my entire side of the family, so we had a few of just us taken.

Glad I did...but can't wait until next years pictures.

Max grows up
Max loves his new bed and has done so well. We put Luke in the other bunk and he is still in his room, and put Max in the "top" bunk which has the rails on the side. Soon....but I'm not quite ready....Luke will join him.

The Polar Express
We went to Heber and took the boys on the Polar Express to visit the North Pole. It was very fun, but a little cramped with both kids on our laps for over an hour. They looked great too...Max still had ketchup in his hair from lunch and Luke still had his Rudolph nose painted on from preschool.

Temple Square
We went with friends to see the lights and then to the Sing-Along downtown. Monday night right before Christmas made for a crowded time, but it isn't Christmas until you go downtown!

Santa Overdose
Max finally sat on Santa's lap without crying. We had plenty of practice this year. I think we saw Santa 5 times! Luke noticed that each Santa looked different and asked me if they were the real ones. Is he already supposed to notice this? Next year I might try to limit the Santa's we see to just 1 or 2. It just isn't as special when you run into him everywhere...

Christmas Morning
The kids were so excited to see what Santa left under the tree. We kept them on the stairs until we could get down there to capture their expressions. It was a great Christmas!


Of course Ike spoiled me, like he always does. This was one of my gifts...a new Dyson Vacuum! Ok- some might not be too thrilled to get surprised with a vacuum...but it is a Dyson. I'd be silly to not be excited! It is pretty much amazing and now my favorite chore is to suck up stuff and see how dirty my house really is.

8 Years of Marriage
I really can't believe it has been 8 years.
We have been so blessed, and almost 3 kids later we still love to be together. We were able to sneak off for the night.


Also this month...

We sold our Hyundai Santa Fe and bought a Honda Odyssey for our growing family.
and yes...I love driving a van. I feel super sexy in it.

Celebrated Ike's 30th birthday...and didn't get one picture of it.

Attended at least 10 Christmas parties

I helped with Young Women in Excellence

I waited until the week before Christmas to do any Christmas shopping....

Phew...I am ready to start this new year.
