First and Second

First thing.

These earphones are awesome! Ike surprised me with them as my old headband kind had seen their day. These ones make it feel like the music is being blasted from the inside of my brain! It is crazy....maybe I am pushing them to far inside my ears...I don't know, but I love em. I used them the other day when I ran my 9 mile run ( I am training for a 1/2 marathon......I am sure my friends and family are sick of me talking about this....sorry!!!) and they didn't fall out once, and they are o so comfy.
Second thing.

Happy Half-Birthday to my spikey haired boys.

In 6 months and I will have a 4 year old. Now that sounds crazy to my ears.
I love these two little men oh so much.

Aren't they just the cutest.

pssssst......

So. One of my New Year's resolutions was to wear more stylish shoes. I know to some that might sound kind of stupid, and I agree with you, kind of. I don't own any high-heels (maybe one pair I bought for a few $ but seriously never wear them) and I tend to buy the same shoes over and over, just in a different color. So I used some hard earned money and set off to DSW in search of some sort of something different, cool, and oh so stylin'. They have an amazing clearance section and with the help of my sis-in-law KJ, I was able to turn down all of the shoes I normally would try on for some with wedges and heels.

Well, yesterday was Sunday, and I was able to sport my new shoes. I learned rather quickly that they are not very comfortable. They were comfy in the store! How do people wear these things longer than a few hours? I wanted to take them off after 2 minutes! Ouch!!! And I could hardly walk without almost tipping over. I swear everyone was looking at me thinking "she is such a dork. look at how high those heels are. she should not be wearing those, they are sooo not her". So, yea, I was pretty self-conscious the entire time and contemplated taking them off at church, but then thought people would really start staring at me.

After church I made it out of the chapel and into the parking lot without falling. Ike was talking with a neighbor and I was patiently waiting for him, still wanting to rip these shoes off....when out of nowhere, a little girl in the ward who is probably 6 came up to me at softly patted my shoulder and whispered into my ear...."pssssttt (she really said psssttt!).....I really love your shoes". She gave me a big smile, and ran off to her mom who was waiting for her.

So, now I don't know what to think. Do I trust the 6 year old or do I go back to my old comfy shoes?

Maybe I can handle these with practice, we will see.

bum bum ouchy

We need some major help over here! Max, as usual, has some poopin' problems....which has given him some bum bum problems....which makes changing his diaper just torture, for him and his mommy and daddy! I am calling on all you experienced bum bum experts. What are some tricks of the trade for treating diaper rash? It is pretty bad, open sores and such, and he just keeps poopin' away before it can heal. I feel so bad for him, poor boy!

the tale of the pearl necklace and other adventures

See this necklace? This was a special gift Ike gave me on the Christmas before we were married. I opened it up, secretly thinking "ugly....when have I ever worn pearls???" but pretended to love it anyways as he was so proud of it. I believe his intentions were to have me wear it on our wedding day 4 days later. This did not go with my wedding dress, I already had a necklace picked out to wear that day. I remember him asking me on our wedding day where the necklace was. Well, uhhhh....what to say?

So, fast forward 7 years. I am not really to big into accessories. I forget to wear them. I love the way they look, but when it comes down to it I don't want to spend money on jewelry if I just forget. I'd rather buy shoes or clothes that are kind of necessary to wear, right? Recently I have noticed that people are wearing pearl necklaces, and I thought about the necklace in my jewelry box that I have laughed at for years and thought, maybe I should give it another try. So, I tried it on and I thought it was the cutest thing ever! It has taken me 7 years, but I now lovvveee this necklace. I wear it every chance I get, and everyone always tells me how much they love it. I am just glad I didn't give this away somewhere along the way, and that I held out for it. Wearing this necklace makes me think about Ike and his sweet desire to always make me happy! Poor guy....I am sure that is hard for him sometimes as obviously I can be hard to please :)

7 years. That sounds like such a long time, don't ya think? Maybe not to some, but to me I can't believe Ike and I have been married that long. It really seems like just yesterday....

I was going through some old pictures of us through the years, and can't believe how young we look! We are just babies in these pictures!

We have had a fun time together, and have been lucky enough to do so many things. When it was just the 2 of us, Ike's job required him to be at a lot of different events, and I would tag along with him. We attended a few concerts a month (not always ones I would have chosen to go to), went to Disneyland, Seaworld, Movie premiers, Buzz games, and much much more! We were able to build our home in a wonderful neighborhood and meet friends we will cherish forever and most importantly start a family. We have made so many fun memories!

*side note: I am not super happy with how I look in some of these pictures, but I am who I am, right, and I will try to be proud of it . And it looks like the year 2004 was a happenin' year!
